RICARDO VILLACIS

The artist was born in Quito (Ecuador) and he does early his training as a sculptor at the School of Art “Fausto Cervantes”, in San Antonio de Ibarra (Ecuador).

He has completed several courses and seminars on Carving, Painting, Drawing , Modeling and Design in Ecuador as well as in Europe.

Ricardo Villacis lives in Germany since 1989.

He has carried out several individual and collective exhibitions in Ecuador and several European countries (see newspaper clippings).

Nowadays he works as an independent artist. Sculpture has very different aspects,

possibilities and applications for Ricardo Villacis. To sum up, Sculpture is an entire different world, his world!

Works based on his own ideas...

Here characteristics from his sculpture are others and they can consist of representations of dreams, memories, visions or reality itself of the world that he has had to live. There is place for fantasy too.

What real, mundane, fantastic, unreal or abstract is.

Themes vary a lot. He likes trying out new things.

His works can be seen as in relief-shapes as well as in three-dimensional format.
